DHS and HHS Partner in Efforts to Locate Missing Migrant Children

Secretary Mullin states 148,000 children have been located so far.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is releasing a public service announcement (PSA) video directed at unaccompanied migrant children who entered the country under the previous administration. The video, which has Spanish subtitles, features the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s (ORR) National Call Center number for children to report if they are being abused or exploited. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) will immediately open an investigation into reports of abuse to track down the victims.

The PSA video states, “If you’re one of the nearly 479,000 children that came to the U.S. alone prior to January 2025, without family, without support, if you’re being forced to work, experiencing exploitation, or feeling unsafe, help is available.”

The video continues, “The national call center connects you to support, information, and a safe way to report concerns. You’re not alone; don’t let anyone take advantage of you. If you need help or are in danger, call now.”

Between 2021 and 2025, HHS significantly relaxed vetting of sponsors to receive custody of unaccompanied migrant children rather than keeping children in camps, and caseworkers were unable to track and perform welfare checks on hundreds of thousands of children. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated that federal officials located over 148,000 children who were previously unaccounted for.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretaries Kennedy and Mullin as they collaborate on efforts to locate and rescue unaccompanied migrant children who have been trafficked.
  • For wisdom for ORR and HSI officials as they invite reports and investigate leads for missing migrant children.
  • For God’s protection over children, both migrant and U.S. citizens, who are being exploited and abused.
